5 things I like about my “marketing course” at University of Wolverhampton.
Updated: May 11
Hello everyone, my name is Aswin Ghimire. I am an International Business Management student at Biratnagar International College (University of
Wolverhampton), and I want to talk about one of the most exciting modules I’ve studied so far: ‘Marketing Consultant’.
And honestly, this wasn’t just another university module.
It felt like stepping into the real marketing world.
No boring theory. Just real-world thinking, practical tools, and skills that actually prepare you for a career in digital marketing.
If you’re wondering what studying marketing is actually like, or whether it really prepares you for the industry, here’s my honest experience in 5 powerful takeaways.

1. Personal Branding Hits Different When You Start Doing It for Real
Before this module, “personal branding” sounded like a buzzword.
Now? I see it as a career necessity.
I learned how to build my professional identity as Aswin Ghimire, especially through platforms like LinkedIn. But more importantly, I learned how to position myself in a competitive digital world.
It’s not just about having a profile. It’s about being visible, valuable, and memorable.
And that mindset shift changes everything.
2. SEO Isn’t Complicated — It’s Powerful
I used to think SEO was something only technical experts could understand.
This module proved me wrong.
Learning about SEO Specialist skills like keyword research, on-page optimisation, and search visibility made me realise something important:
SEO is not just a theory. It’s digital visibility in action.
It’s how brands get found. It’s how businesses grow. And it’s a skill that’s in high demand right now.
3. Social Media Marketing Is Strategy Behind Every Scroll
We all use social media every day, but this module made me see it differently.
Behind every post, every reel, every campaign, there is a strategy.
Through Social Media Marketing and Social Media Strategy, I learned how brands don’t just “post content” — they plan, analyse, and target specific audiences with purpose.
Now, when I scroll, I don’t just consume content... I analyse it.
And that’s a big shift in thinking.
4. Content Creation Is Where Marketing Becomes Creative
This is where things got really interesting.
Through Content Marketing, Blogging, and Content Creation, I realised marketing is not just business. It’s storytelling.
Good content doesn’t just sell. It connects, engages, and builds trust.
I started enjoying the process of creating content that actually has meaning, not just filling space online.
5. Real Tools = Real Confidence for the Future
What made this module stand out the most was how practical it was.
I wasn’t just learning concepts, I was applying them using Digital Marketing Tools, building my Digital Marketing Portfolio, and exploring real-world areas like Email Marketing and E-commerce Marketing.
That hands-on experience made everything feel real.
Like I’m not just studying marketing anymore, I’m preparing to work in it.
Final Thoughts: This Module Changed How I See My Future
Looking back, the Marketing Consultant module didn’t just teach me marketing.
It shaped how I think.
It helped me grow from a student into someone actively preparing to become a Digital Marketing Specialist.
As Aswin Ghimire, I can confidently say this module has been one of the most practical and eye-opening parts of my university journey so far.
And if there’s one thing I would leave you with, it’s this:
Marketing is not something you just study. It’s something you learn by doing, experiencing, and living.

This is a brilliantly written and insightful. Your dedication to digital marketing is evident and genuinely inspiring. Wishing you continued success!❤️🫶🏻
